Introducing ‘Marigold’
Marigold, my little pop-top flower van, and I set up in Paekākāriki Village every Saturday, 10am–2pm. First week of September to end of May.
Alongside fresh flowers, I also sell handmade cards, and painted originals, made by me. You will find me in Marigold outside St Peter’s Hall.
Occasionally the weather calls for a Sunday instead, I'll always post the change on the home page and on Instagram.

How to look after your bunch
Get them into water fast.
Fill a clean vase or jar almost to the top.
Top up or change the water daily.
Changing it is even better than topping up.
Keep them out of direct sun.
Some flowers wilt quickly in heat.
Expect a range of vase lives.
Every stem is cut and conditioned to last as long as possible, but some flowers naturally last longer than others, that's part of their charm. As blooms fade, remove them and recut the stems of most flowers to help them keep drinking. Exception: don't recut poppies, hellebores, or any flower with a fleshy stem that's been conditioned in boiling water (you'll notice a colour change at the cut end). If you want to recut these, dip the end in freshly boiled water first.
Any container can be a vase.
Jars, bottles, teacups: there are no rules.
